The new member barbecue at my son's new school was fun last night! My first plate was two pieces of chicken and some sweet potato and regular fries:

I decided the first plate wasn't going to cut it, so I made myself a hamburger:

The kids played for awhile and then we came home and called it a night. I had an awesome sleep last night! Don't you just love that when it happens?? Breakfast this morning was a light wheat English muffin with Barney Butter and the last of my cantaloupe:

After breakfast, I took my son to his kindergarten orientation. He got to see his new classroom and meet his teachers. I think we are all ready for school to start on Monday! Afterwards, it was a quick trip to Costco and then home for lunch. I made a tuna salad sandwich on a sandwich thin with tomatoes and lettuce. On the side was a salad with butter lettuce, tomatoes and Girard's Light Champagne Vinaigrette (my favorite bottled salad dressing):

I did some random organizing around the house: cleaned up the garage (maybe not a good idea in 90 plus degree weather?), putting together outdoor lamps I bought for my barbecue area and general kitchen clean up. I was trying to debate whether or not to go to the gym....the heat makes me feel lazy. Hubby came home and convinced me to go. I did the same 45 minute treadmill workout that I did on Tuesday but I did the walk version of it. Glad I did something!!!

We let my son pick a restaurant to go to tonight to celebrate his starting kindergarten. He picked PF Changs. Nice choice! Hubby and I went with their "Menu for Two" option. He went with Hot and Sour Soup and I rolled with Egg Drop Soup:

We split the chicken lettuce wraps for our appetizer:

For my entree, I went with the Cantonese Shrimp. I found it a little boring, so I asked for the Kung Pao sauce for it after this picture was taken. Much better!

I choose the mini carrot cake for my dessert:

YUM!!! Since the kids didn't eat dessert there, they wanted frozen yogurt so we rolled over to Sweet Things for a bit.

That's all I have to report for today! I hope everyone enjoyed their day!

Chopsticks or no chopsticks in an Asian restaurant?  Chopsticks all the way! :)

  1. Chopsticks! But I'm not very good at it. I had PF Changs the other night, but all I had was soup and dumplings I wanted one of those shot glass desserts but I was too self conscious to order it, haha.

  5. Yay for a new kindergartner! That is so exciting!

I love chopsticks. I have some fancy ones at home that I always use, and I love using them at restaurants, too.

  6. I have a confession ... I can never get the hang of chopsticks.

Just bought the Girards Light Champagne dressing the other day for our grilled romaine salads. Can't wait to try it.

  7. Love the new layout:) And love PF Changs! Especially their lettuce wraps...but unfortunately I'm a fork eater, can't seem to get a grip (literally) on the chopsticks.
