A Beautiful California Sunset

The setting for the rehearsal dinner last night could not have been more beautiful. It started with a cocktail hour on the hotel's outdoor patio over looking the ocean.

The bride (Jaime) and I:

It had been a cloudy cold day but the evening ended up being warm with a beautiful sunset. Hubby and I:

The groom (Dan) and I:

I enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay during the cocktail hour:

I didn't eat many of the passed appetizers. I had a pita chip with hummus as well as a Danish meatball. I was saving up for the barbecue dinner. :)

We made our way over to the barbecue which was on a beautiful grassy lawn over looking the water.

My friend Stacey and I:

Then it was time to eat! There was barbecue chicken, corn on the cob and burgers. I went straight for a cheeseburger:

They also had these fabulous Caesar salads in shot glasses (there's one behind my burger). I had two of them..so delicious and fun to eat!

Guess what else was fun to eat? The ice cream sundae bar they had!

I put everything in that baby. Waffle cone with vanilla ice cream, chocolate & caramel sauces, M&M's, Butterfinger pieces, Oreo crumbles and whipped cream. Amazing. :)

When the party started to wind down, a bunch of us made our way to the hotel bar to continue the evening.

I went to bed way to late but I had such a fun time last night!!! When I woke up this morning, I looked at the clock and it said 10:00Am. What!?! I haven't slept that late in forever and it felt great!!!

Hubby was nice enough to get me a latte to enjoy this morning:

I ate the other half of the Odwalla bar from yesterday. Hubby has wedding duties to attend to (he's a groomsman) so I'm chilling solo style in our room. I'm planning on having lunch with some friends who are arriving soon.

The wedding is tonight and I'm excited. There are rumors that the In N Out truck is coming late night to the wedding. More cheeseburgers! Yes!!

What is your ideal "burger"?

  1. Have fun tonight! My favorite burger is a good grass-fed burger with caramelized onion, ketchup, and lettuce on a good bun. Or...In N Out. Yumm.
