I think my “vacation mode” eating is not helping with weight loss. Too bad I have another trip scheduled this weekend….a wedding in Napa. I guess there’s going to have to be some serious detox time next week!
Breakfast this morning was Fage yogurt with Fiber One cereal, strawberries and blackberries:
After I took the kids to school, I went over to Great News for a cooking class. Today’s class was entitled: Fast Fish Entrees.
The first recipe was Broiled Halibut with Lemon Aioli and Caper Topping:
Yum! The topping reminded me a little of tartar sauce….I would have liked more on the fish!
The second recipe was Oven-Braised Bass in Artichoke and Tomato Broth:
Also delicious! I loved the sauce…it would be great on pasta!
The third recipe was Salmon with Creamy White Wine Leek Sauce with Orange Zest:
This one was my favorite. The sauce was so dreamy!
Next up was Sautéed Fish with Fresh Ginger and Cilantro Marinade and Asian Lemon Sauce:
The sauce was very lemony and unique. I would enjoy it on chicken as well. Since hubby doesn’t eat fish (!!), it’s nice to learn sauces and techniques that can be adapted for other types of meat.
Dessert was Lemon Cheesecake Squares with Lemon Curd Topping:
Yes, it’s as good as it sounds!! I will make this for sure!
I picked up my daughter from school and got a much needed car wash. Tomorrow is grandparent’s day at my son’s school and I don’t need the grannies driving around with me dirty style!
We picked up my son and came home. I’ve been spending the last hour or so figuring out how to put kid’s games on my old iphone so my son can play with it. I’ve had to update this and update that and I’m about to go nuts. The things you do for your kids. :)
