Last night's dinner was Tamale Pie that I pulled out of the freezer and reheated. I served sauteed onions and peppers on the side:

I decided that I'm not super fond of this recipe...there was too much corn meal in it. Next time I'll use less. Before I went to bed, I had a bowl of chocolate cheerios and almond milk. I didn't take a picture because I was charging my camera.

This morning's breakfast was a light wheat English muffin with Barney Butter and a bowl of berries:

The kids are off from school today and tomorrow so I had a relaxing morning not having to worry about lunch boxes and all that jazz. I did take my daughter to her first dentist appointment (she did a great job!) and my son got his hair cut.

The hubby came home from a meeting and surprised me by taking me out to lunch at Harry's Bar & Grill. Why have I never been there before?? It was amazing! First of all, it was packed...we barely grabbed two seats at the bar. We had a definite splurge meal and it was fabulous. I had a glass of chardonnay and tons of bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar:

For my entree, I choose the Seafood Cobb salad:

It was so delicious!!!! As if that weren't decadent enough, hubby and I split a slice of their homemade cheesecake:

It was beyond words. What a great place! I will definitely go back soon!
Now it's back to reality: doing laundry, paying bills, etc. Hubby and I are leaving early Friday morning for Pebble Beach & Santa Barbara for 4 days and then we come home and the next morning take the kids to Austin, Texas for 4 days to visit family. There's a long to-do list to take care of before then!
Does anyone have any fun summer trips planned?

  2. I love having spontaneous special lunch dates. I'm adding that to my list of SD restaurants.

We plan to go to MN twice, to see family, and for a wedding. I will probably stay a couple of weeks, to escape the heat wrath here.

I think we will do 10 days to 2 weeks in Del Mar ...just debating if it will be July or Sept.
