Foodbuzz Festival Day One
Holy food whirlwind. The last twenty four hours has been an eating, wine drinking, food blog loving overdose of greatness.
On my flight yesterday I enjoyed some wine while catching up on some reading.
I landed and took a cab to my hotel. I was especially excited to meet one of my roommates for the weekend: Mellissa from A Fit and Spicy Life!
She had seen a great wine bar, Blanc and Rouge, nearby so we headed on over and split a great bottle of wine.
It was so nice to just sit, relax and chat with someone who has similar interests as you.
We headed back to our hotel where I got to meet my other roommates: Elise from PhD Strides and Julia from Jogging My Memory.
They had free wine in the lobby of our hotel so we indulged a bit before we headed over to the Welcome Reception.
The Welcome Reception was hosted by Sabra so you can imagine all the different hummus related appetizers they had.
My favorite was the hummus bruscetta. I almost ran down the poor guy with the tray each time.
Eventually it was time to head on up to the Dinner and Blog Award Ceremony. Dinner was served buffet style and there were countless options to choose from.
I won’t bore you with them all but my favorites: Baked Four Cheese Macaroni, Butternut Squash Orzo and the Tuscan Beef stew with Honey Cornbread.
After listening to the speakers, Jennifer Che (Tiny Urban Kitchen), Joy Wilson (Joy the Baker) and Marc Matsumoto (No Recipes) and the Blog Awards, it was dessert time.
Of course I had to try a bit of everything. Favorites were: Heirloom Pumpkin Tart and the Creamy Italian Nougat and Valrona Chocolate Ganache Bites.
We left with some serious food comas and headed back to our hotel for some serious shut-eye!
Foodbuzz Festival Day Two to come….
