142.4…Steak and a Race

My husband I went to Donovan’s Steakhouse last night with some friends who recently got engaged.

A glass of Merlot started the evening quite nicely.

They had a prix fixe special on the menu that looked perfect so I went with that. You picked an appetizer, entree and a dessert. I went with the Donovan’s Chop Salad to start:

For my entree I choose the petite filet and shrimp scampi:

The steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp was excellent! My husband ordered the special too so we each got a dessert.

I choose the chocolate mousse cake and he got the cheesecake. Both were good but I liked the cheesecake better.

For breakfast I had toast with almond butter and an orange:

I took the kids to school and went to my son’s parent teacher conference. It was a very positive conference and we got the thumbs up. Yeah!

I came home to do some work. I decided to skip Cardio Muscle class today. I’m running a 10k tomorrow morning and didn’t want to be sore or extra tired.

For lunch I had the rest of the Greek Pasta Salad:

I ate it cold and it was everything I could have hoped for.

The rest of the afternoon was spent doing laundry, picking up kids and getting part of dinner marinating in the fridge.

Like I mentioned, tomorrow I’m running a 10K. It’s my first race ever. Team in Training wants everyone to have at least one race experience before the half marathon so this will be mine. Fortunately I’m running with a friend so I won’t be by myself. Wish me luck! :)

Ever run a race before? Any pointers for me?
