So...when you get older, if you drink too much you can't sleep very well. Well, I think I had one too many last night so my slumber wasn't as wonderful as I had hoped. I forced myself to stay in bed until 8AM. By then it was too late to have breakfast before my 9:15 spin class so I dragged my sorry self downstairs and had a lovely cup of Dunkin Donuts Cinnamon Coffee with the usuals: unsweetened vanilla almond milk and sugar free vanilla syrup.

I was a zombie when I walked into my spin class but all of a sudden, something crazy happened: I had more energy than I knew what to do with! Was it the coffee you ask? Maybe! All I know is that I had the best workout that I've had in a long time! The instructor and the one other person in the class decided that it would be fun to spin until my heart rate monitor registered 500 calories. So that is what we did. Everyone got to watch me kick my own ass in order to reach our goal...which we did in about 45 minutes. I felt glorious!

I came home and made my usual favorite: Barney Butter on Ezekiel with strawberries and more coffee.

I then proceeded to pay bills and do more boring stuff around the house. Lunch was leftover whole wheat spaghetti with marinara that I threw in the microwave before hitting my next project....

...taking down my daughter's crib. She's almost three and wants NO part of her "big girl" bed. I think she wants to be a baby forever. Well, having her in her crib makes her difficult to travel with....she doesn't know how to sleep in a regular bed. Since she's traveling this weekend and getting used to a "regular" bed, hubbie and I thought this would be a good time to take the crib away. I don't know if it's the right decision or not but as long as the crib is in her room.....she doesn't want to get out of it. So....the crib is now disassembled. That was quite a beast to take apart!! I had to reward myself:

Then it was time for a nap. I closed all the drapes/blinds and attempted a two hour nap. I am the WORST napper. It takes me forever to fall asleep and then when I do, I need 2-3 hours to feel better and not groggy. Well, I don't think I ever actually feel asleep but it was nice to lie there in the peace and quiet.

I eventually had to get up and shower and get ready for my friend's birthday party. This was the first time I brushed my teeth all day. I am disgusting. It's ok...I can admit it.

My friend Dina picked me up and we went downtown to the new hotel Se San Diego to meet with some friends for dinner before the party. Their restaurant is called Suite and Tender and it was excellent! They have the only unisex bathroom in San Diego (and they are proud of it!). It was quite the experience! :)

A wonderful glass of Chardonnay....

Ok...by this point I was really hungry. Bring on the bread! Yummy and warm with soft butter...MMMMMMM.....

We all received a complimentary crab salad with crispy capers. Delicious!

They had a special four course menu for $30 so I went for it! Dina started with the beef carpaccio. It was like buttah!!!

I went for the crab cakes. Jumbo lump crab at its finest....

Next up was the hearts of romaine salad. I didn't find this salad to be too exciting.

The best part was when we all got to choose our steak knives for our entrees.....

That was a first! I was happy with my choice.

My entree was the filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and mushrooms. Fabulous I must say!

The dessert was a pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. I didn't like it that much. I found the pie too be a little hard....I renamed it "Pecan Disk".

We went upstairs to the birthday party.....

And got a little crazy.....

And had some cake.....

And hung out for a bit and left. It was such a fun evening! I had 2 1/2 glasses of wine which shouldn't be too much to hinder my sleep this evening (hopefully). I am enjoying my last night of "vacation" and hope to sleep past 8AM tomorrow. We shall see!
