Home again, Home again!

After a long red eye flight, we are home!!!

Let's see...where did we leave off? Sunday after breakfast....I went to the gym!!! I felt so much better afterwards!! I warmed up on the treadmill for 5 minutes and then ran for 20 minutes and did a cool down for 5 minutes. I did some biceps, triceps, chest, shoulders and abs and then I was outta there. Jumped in the shower and got ready for the post-wedding lunch at the Plantation golf course restaurant.

Lunch started with papaya and pineapple. Can't get enough of Hawaiian pineapple!

Check out our view at lunch:

How about a papaya Mimosa (or two)?

For my main course I had the blackened mahi mahi sandwich. It was really good....the fish in Hawaii was amazing! Sorry for the crooked pic. How do I rotate the pics when it does this?

After lunch, the rain stopped enough for us to do a little snorkeling (more exercise!). There weren't a lot of fish to be seen but we had a great time looking for them!
For dinner we drove in town and ate at a restaurant that I cannot remember the name (too much wine?). I started with the ahi stack. Can you tell I like ahi?

With a lovely glass of chardonnay, I had the surf and turf. It was quite good although the picture looks like a giant mess! There was a lobster tail, petite filet mignon (with crumbled gorgonzola on top) and mashed potatoes. After dinner we had a hankering for ice cream and stopped at Cold Stone. I had a small cookie dough ice cream in a cup and attacked it before a picture could be taken. Oops!! It was heaven. :)
Then it was bedtime....I slept like a rock every night in Hawaii. Absolutely fabulous I tell you.

Monday morning's breakfast buffet was a tad different. I had an egg white omelet (with all the veggies) instead of egg beaters. More pineapple, wheat toast with butter and a poached egg on corned beef hash. I had a couple cups of coffee as well.

We spent a few last hours at the pool. I'm really enjoying my book (The Lost Symbol) by the way!!!!
We weren't super hungry at lunch time (surprise surprise!) so we went down to the Beach Cafe and enjoyed this view:

While eating yummy chips, salsa and guacamole.

We spent a little bit longer at the pool and then went back to the room to get packed up. :( Our flight wasn't until late so we decided to drive back into town and shop and have dinner. We ran into some friends and all decided on Kimo's for dinner. There was already a line at 5PM, so we thought it must be good!

Hubby thought it would be nice to end our trip with a bottle of champagne. I couldn't agree more!

Mmmmm.....Bubbly!

They had really good warm sourdough rolls and warm carrot muffins so I had to try them. The muffins were outstanding. Warm and full of fall spices.

The sun was just starting to set....

While enjoying the view, I started with a Caesar salad...it was excellent!! How many Caesar salads have I had now!?!

For my main course, our waiter recommend their Opakapaka fish done in the Kimo style: with garlic, lemon and sweet basil glaze. It was outstanding....seriously the best fish of the trip!!!!!

Our hotel gave us a coupon for a free hula pie. Holy yum.

It wasn't very good. :)

Then it was off to the airport as we bid our farewells to Hawaii. I didn't eat on the plane because I was attempting to sleep. I have a hard time sleeping on the plane? How about you?
We flew into Los Angeles so we had to make the 2 hour drive to San Diego. I came home, made some VERY needed coffee and ate an english muffin with almond butter. The camera was still packed so I didn't take a picture but you've seen it before.
After taking the kids to school, I took a nap. Naps are great. Picked the kids up, ate an Amy's burrito (no picture) and am now catching up on blogs, email, etc. I'm also working on my third cup of coffee....because I actually am going out tonight....to my monthly Bunco dinner. I cannot miss these....it's fun catching up with my friends...I feel like I haven't seen them forever!!! I'm sure I won't be out late. :)

  1. The view is beautiful! As are those mimosas. :) Glad you're loving the book! I can't sleep on plans unless i'm SO tired. Even then... not ideal!

  2. So glad you had a great time! I had the best mahi mahi I've ever eaten when I was in Hawaii! I actually didn't even eat fish at the time, but I tried a bite of my dad's and loved it so much that we traded dinners ;) haha
