140.0…Swap Party!

The swap party was a success! Everyone went home with tons of cute stuff! Just in case you’re not sure what a swap party is…..you bring all your clothes/shoes/accessories that you don’t want or wear anymore and let everyone have at it! No rules, just take what you want. New clothes for free! :)

Yesterday evening I got my house set up for the party.

Caramelized Onion & Gruyere Cheese Dip. Stay tuned for the recipe. This one is a keeper!

My friend, Kathleen, came with her jewelry from Stella & Dot to sell. Really cute stuff! Excited to place my order!

Then everyone started arriving and began to set out/hang up their clothes.

The swap party is one of my favorite parties. I love watching people find things they love!

Breakfast this morning was a toasted English muffin with Barney Butter and strawberries:

I took the kids to school and did my half marathon training for the day: 4 miles. Another good run!

Mile 1 – 10:09

Mile 2 – 9:52

Mile 3 – 9:23

Mile 4 – 8:56 (heart attack inducing)

It was shower time when I got home. I got the laundry started, cleaned the fish tanks (no like this job) and made lunch:

My friend Nora brought the most delicious chicken salad last night and let me keep the leftovers. Nice! I put some chicken salad into a sandwich thin with some lettuce and cucumbers. I had a big salad on the side. Excellent lunch!

I had to pick up my daughter from school early because they said she was tired and took a nap at school and that her tummy hurt. When I got her home she proceeded to have a dress up/dance party. Hmmm….that’s tired and not feeling well? :)

My son is staying late at school to try a Capture the Flag class. He normally hates any kind of after school activities but really wanted to do this one. Hope he likes it!

Are you a fan of chicken salad? What do you put in yours? I like almonds in mine.

Were you involved in sports growing up? Nope….hated sports. I do hope my kids like it though!

  1. What a fun party! I've heard of these, but have never been to one! I also love Stella and Dot...I hope you found something fabulous!

  2. I'm not a fan of chicken salad. But I do like (real) chicken breast on a sandwich with miracle whip. I just don't like all the other mix ins, like celery and grapes. Bleh.

But I DO love gruyere cheese and am looking forward to your recipe!!

  5. I've always wanted to go to one of those! Sounds fun. Although at 6 feet, I might not be doing much swapping!

  6. I was out of town during your birthday so I wanted to wish you a happy belated one! A swap party sounds really fun. I do like chicken salad, pretty much any kind. When I make it I end up putting in grapes (or apples) and pecans. Sounds weird but it's so good. No sports for me either-hated them.
