139.6…10 Miles

Friday nights call for a glass of wine. They just do.

April 2011 019

Sometimes they call for pizza too.

April 2011 020

I made a pizza using my husband’s favorite Pillsbury pizza crust and topped it with pizza sauce, mozzarella & parmesan cheeses, onions, green bell peppers and Italian seasoning Garlic Gold. Great pizza!! I made a salad to go with it. Perfect Friday night dinner.

The rain kept waking me up in the middle of the night. All I kept thinking was, “Dump it all out! I don’t want to run in the rain tomorrow!”

The rain gods listened to me. Thank you.

I was up bright and early this morning to meet Team in Training for our Saturday run. I ate some toast with peanut butter before I left.

10 miles were on the agenda today….the longest run of my life.

I did it!

April 2011 030

Mile 1- 11:18

Mile 2 – 10:46

Mile 3 – 11:07

Mile 4 – 10:52

Mile 5 – 10:30

Mile 6 – 10:29

Mile 7 – 10:29

Mile 8 – 10:48

Mile 9 – 10:27

Mile 10 – 10:26

The first 5 miles flew by while the last 5 were a little harder. All in all, I felt good and could have kept going if need be. I feel good about the half marathon!

On the way home, I tried a new product for me:

April 2011 022

I’ve been wanting to try Larabars but have been wary because of the high calorie content for such a little bar. I also wanted to try the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough variety but I had a hard time finding it until now. Verdict? I liked the taste and the density of the bar. I still think the calories are too high (like 220 or something like that) for such a small bar. I think they are good for after my runs though.

Hubby took the kids to my daughter’s friend’s birthday party. I came home to change and grab a snack before running out the door to pick up my son from that party to take him to another party.

April 2011 023

Too bad the party is not until tomorrow. UGH. I never do stuff like that. I get all the way across town to the party location just to be told I got the date wrong. Really!?! I could have been laying down resting my exhausted legs.

Since we were right next to Nordstrom, I grabbed a sandwich to go for lunch.

April 2011 024

I felt really bad because my son was really excited about the party so I took him to pick out his birthday cake for his party next weekend. He’s turning 6. :) He was quite happy to pick out his chocolate birthday cake with cookies and cream filling.

The grocery store had a Coffee Bean so I made a beeline for it and grabbed a latte with an extra shot. Ah….life is good.

We got home, I annihilated the sandwich and now I’m lying in bed, drinking my coffee while blogging.

At some point I need to get ready for a party the husband and I are going to tonight. I hope my legs hold up.

Have you ever gone to an event on the wrong day? This is a first for me.

What is something on your “Bucket List”?

I think you made a great recovery though for your son! How old is your daughter? Hrm, my bucket list.... I think at almost 28 I should have one of these, huh?

  4. Way to go!! Ten miles is definitely something to be proud of!

I'm glad you liked the larabar!! I know everyone has different tastes, and that's fine, but I would have felt bad if you tried it and thought it was awful.

Your son's birthday cakes sounds delish!

  6. 10 miles! You are so hard core! I noticed your weight is dropping too--you're working your butt off--literally! Yeah, I think I have showed up for something on the wrong day but I can't remember what it was. The only thing I care about doing before I die is bringing someone (preferrably people as in more than one) to Christ.
