138.2…and a GIVEAWAY!
How would you like $20 in gift cards to Wendy’s? Remember last week when I went to Wendy’s to try their new natural cut French fries? Well, I’m posting my review below and giving away $20 in gift cards to Wendy’s…read below for the details!
Last night I made an old favorite: Chicken Parmesan.
I pounded out some chicken breasts, dipped them in flour, then egg and then Italian style bread crumbs mixed with parmesan cheese. I browned them in a bit of olive oil and then baked them at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. I added some marinara sauce and both mozzarella and parmesan cheeses and baked them for an additional 7 minutes until the top was beginning to brown and bubble. I heated up a bag of Trader Joe’s Penne Arrabiata to go with it. I also made a Caesar salad. Great dinner!
Breakfast this morning was Barney Butter on a whole wheat English muffin with a side of strawberries:
The hubby took the kids to school so I got to relax a bit until my 9AM Cardio Muscle class. I haven’t worked out since last Thursday I think, so my body really needed this! I will be sore tomorrow!
After changing I ran to the grocery store and then picked up some El Pollo Loco for lunch.
I love their Pollo Bowl. This is the before picture before I added a zillion packets of hot sauce. :)
Look what hubby brought home:
Yes, that is a bag FULL of holiday cookies. Wow…I’ve already had one….too delicious. Must figure out who to give this bag to.
Ok, time to get to business. As part of the Tastemakers Program, Foodbuzz sent me a gift card to Wendy’s to try their new natural cut French fries.
According to Wendy’s, these fries are “Naturally-cut from whole Russet potatoes, cooked skin-on, and served up hot and crispy with a sprinkle of sea salt for a taste as real as it gets.”
Of course I ate mine with ketchup.
These fries were good but not the best I’ve ever had. I do have to say that each fry was equally crisp as the next and they were not limp at all. They were not overly salty and they actually tasted like real potatoes. I really didn’t notice any skin. There was a bit on the ends but it didn’t stand out.
I honestly don’t remember Wendy’s old fries so I cannot be helpful in comparing them. I hadn’t been to Wendy’s for awhile.
For fast-food French fries, these were pretty good. I would eat them again. Would you like to try them for yourself? Now you can! I am giving away 2 gift cards ($10 each) for Wendy’s. All you have to do is leave a comment below answering the following question:
What are your favorite fast-food French fries?
You can earn an additional entry for becoming a follower of my little blog. Just leave me a separate comment that you did so. I’ll draw a name at random on Friday. Contest ends at 5PM PST on Friday, December 17th. Good luck and thank you to Foodbuzz!

I love McDonalds french fries, but they are a one time treat!
ReplyDeleteMcDonald's are my favorite too - but really anything with ketchup is pretty awesome. I'm not a huge fan of Wendy's old fries (a little big and always a little soggy) so i'd love to try new ones!
ReplyDeleteAnd i'm a follower of your blog! BTW - that chicken parm looks great!
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite is a plain old McDonald's cheeseburger...simple yet delcious! When they had their 39 cent deal a few years back, I bought a bunch and froze them!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!
Take care,
Marisa
Definitely the McD's fries...they are soooo addictive. I think they put crack in them or something.
ReplyDeleteThe chicken parm looks fantastico!
I really like McDonald's fries.

i love arby's fries! but maybe its because theyre curly and fun to eat :)
ReplyDeleteand ive been a follow for a while :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite are McDonald's, but I much prefer Wendy's sandwiches, so the new Wendy's fries were a pleasant surprise. They're a close second to McDonald's if not tied, and the sea salt makes a huge difference!
