139.2…Dinner, A Movie and the Races

The last twenty four hours have been eventful! It started with date night last night at Mia Francesca’s restaurant in Del Mar. The last time we went, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal so I was excited to go back. This trip was equally delicious. It all started with some refreshing wine…

We ordered the bruschette again because it was SO good last time!

Their ingredients are fresh and delicious.

Their menu changes frequently so I was unable to order the pasta I had last time (it was fabulous) so I rolled with another choice: orecchiette with bell peppers, ham and basil in a parmesan cream sauce.

I tried so hard to finish every single bite because it was so good. I didn’t succeed but had fun trying.

Next up: a movie across the way at Cinepolis. We saw The Dark Knight. I am a huge Batman fan so I loved it!

This morning’s breakfast was a fried egg on a toasted English muffin and an orange.

My husband and I went over to Cathi & Larry’s house for some drinks and appetizers before heading to the Del Mar Racetrack.

None of the horse’s names called out to me today. I always pick the horses based on their names but there were no good names to be had today. My Cobb salad was good though!

We came back to their house afterwards for a bit and then came home.  Now I’m trying to decide if I’m hungry or not for dinner. Tough decisions! :)

What was the last movie you saw in the theater?

  3. I love your dress! I haven't had an occasion to dress up in a long time.

We used to go to the movies all the time, but the prices are crazy now - $10 for a matinee even! So we have to deem a movie "theater worthy" before we see one.
