Last night I took my sister in law to Roppongi Restaurant in La Jolla. I started with a glass of wine of course! :)

The chef sent out an heirloom tomato & mozzarella salad to sample:

Very tasty and earthy! We shared some edamame:

I went with the tuna sashimi for my appetizer:

It came with a soy wasabi vinaigrette and was delicious! For my entree, I ordered the small size of the Grilled Salmon, Miso Eggplant with a Spinach Thai-Basil Salad with a Citrus Soy Vinaigrette:

Fabulous! The eggplant was so good! My sister in law ordered extra eggplant so I had some more of those bad boys!

The chef sent out little tiramisus for dessert!

Cute and just the right amount for a little taste! I love Roppongi and would definitely recommend it if you are in town!

Breakfast was a light wheat English muffin with Barney Butter and a side of cantaloupe:

I took the kids to school, came home and waited for Lisa to pick me up. We were off to a luncheon for a charity group we belong to.

They had wine......

We shopped a little at the boutique tables that were there and then sat down for lunch. I immediately hit up the bread basket for some bread and butter:

Lunch started with a mixed green salad with a very tasty vinaigrette!

On our table were these little boxes of the most delicious toffee I've ever had!

The box was full.....I ate it all before my entree came. I got the woman's card who makes the toffee (she was selling it there as well) and her email address is: toffeedivine at gmail dot com if anyone is interested in awesome toffee!!!

Thank goodness the toffee was good because the lunch was not good at all.

The chicken was sooo dry. Ugh. I didn't eat all my food and that says something! :) I ended up eating two more little rolls.

Things were better after another glass of wine:

And dessert:

I went to a wax appointment after (fun....not) and now I need to get ready for my Ladies Night out. So much food lately! Ahhhh! No time to workout today or tomorrow....tomorrow will be a busy day! I have a field trip for my son's class and then I'm off to Los Angeles for an event and then hubby and I drive to Vegas! I'm tired just typing all that!! So if I don't post tomorrow, please forgive me!

  1. I'm keeping a San Diego restaurant list (really!) I'm not sure how realistic it will be to go to them, as this summer Ava will be turning one, and I know how fine dining can be hard at that age. We shall see...
    Thanks for the recs!
