138.2…Repeat Offenders

Saturday night was the last night of our trip and our kids begged to go back to Rustler’s Rooste for dinner. Whoever thought to put a slide in a restaurant was a genius. They could not get enough.

After a bit of a wait (while watching the kids go down the slide a million times), we were finally seated. I ordered a much needed glass of wine.

We shared their house salad again which I ate with half a biscuit with butter and honey.

I like the salad better the night before. It didn’t have enough dressing on it this time.

Since I didn’t like my steak, I decided to go with something different: the pork ribs.

I enjoyed this meal much more. The veggies were not as overcooked as the night before. Their cowboy beans rock!!

My husband ordered the apple pie for dessert. I was really full by that point but had a couple of bites just to see what it tasted like. It was pretty good. :)

Two nights in a row at Rustler’s Rooste was a bit of overkill but the kids really enjoyed themselves.

Yesterday morning was slept in again and started packing up to hit the road. We had plans to stop for breakfast but the pizza in our hotel fridge from Rosati’s the day before was really calling our name. We decided to have pizza for breakfast!

Not as good reheated but still wonderful. Rosati’s….I will miss you.

Then it was time to hit the long, boring, 6 hour trip home. There are not a lot of options to eat at along the way so we stopped in El Centro (middle of nowhere) to have lunch at IHOP. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries.

The sandwich was just ok but the fries were good. :)

We stayed at the Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix, by the way. It was a great hotel for families. They had several water slides and a lazy river. We really enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again.

Since we had such a late lunch, I wasn’t very hungry for dinner. I knew I needed to eat something so I made a simple turkey sandwich on wheat bread.

I know I complain about it every time it happens but I DO NOT like the time change. I wish they would just pick one time and stick with it. Is anyone with me on this?

Because of the time change, it was barely light out when I ate breakfast. Ugh.

Fage yogurt with strawberries.

I took the kids to school and went to the gym to meet my friends. I did an hour on the elliptical. I cannot believe I stayed on that boring machine for that long! It really helps when you are chatting with friends.

Afterwards I got my car washed (it needed it SO badly after the drive this weekend) and ran a few more errands. I came home and made lunch. I wanted the same sandwich that I had for dinner last night and added some tomato soup.

Tonight is date night with my husband…..I’m excited for a quiet evening out at a restaurant that does NOT have a slide.

When was the last time (if ever) that you ate at the same restaurant 2 nights in a row? Or am I the only crazy one?

  1. One of my best friend's growing up in Rhode Island was Diane ROSATI.....Nice ITALIAN name....sounds like their pizza was worth the trip to AZ
