142.0 yesterday; 143.2 today….Busy Bee

That’s exactly what I’ve been for the past two days: a busy bee. Sorry about the lack of post yesterday. I was going non stop and didn’t get a chance to blog. Let me catch you up.

Wednesday before track I ate an apple with peanut butter. I still felt hungry. I waited 20 minutes but was still hungry. I mixed some Trader Joe’s granola with their Strawberry Yogurt O’s cereal and ate it with some almond milk,

Ahh! Much better!

Well, that is until I was driving to track practice and it started to rain. Then it started to pour during our warm up. We ended up running to a nearby lake and around said lake 3 times covering 5.15 miles. It did finally stop raining and turned out to be a nice clear evening.

Yesterday’s breakfast was an egg beater & cheddar cheese sandwich on a toasted wheat English muffin along with some cantaloupe.

I dropped the kids off at school and went back to my son’s school to help bake 100 cupcakes. His class was putting on a play and it was my job, as the room mom, to coordinate the food and refreshments afterwards. Once the cupcakes were out of the oven, they had to cool before frosting them so I stopped by Starbucks for an iced tea and to catch up on emails.

I grabbed a quick lunch at Subway: roast beef sandwich:

I stopped at the grocery store to get some more food for the little party and came back to the school to frost the cupcakes and set up all the food.

The play was beyond cute! My husband, mom and mother in law came for the show. Afterward the reception I got everything cleaned up and we headed home.

We all went to our club for dinner. It was “Italian Night”. They have themed nights on Thursdays along with a soup and salad bar. I had this salad (times two):

My mom’s birthday was on Monday (Happy Belated Birthday Mom!) so we all toasted the special occasion.

For my entree, I ordered the Papardelle with Mushrooms.

It was pretty good but not out of this world.

What was out of this world was the cupcakes we ate at home for dessert.

My mom’s favorite cupcakes are the ones you get at the grocery store. I have to say, those cupcakes were off the heezy fosheezy!

This morning’s breakfast was a toasted English muffin with peanut butter and a side of strawberries.

I took the kids to school and did my half marathon training for the day. It was supposed to be 3 aerobic miles so I tried to really kick it up.

Mile 1 – 9:53

Mile 2- 9:33

Mile 3 – 9:10

I came home to get the laundry going and knocked out a bunch of crap on my to-do list.

Lunch was a turkey & Swiss sandwich with a big salad.

I picked up the mail and realized the cookie fairy visited me!

I won these Stuffed Oatmeal and Raisinet cookies from Bite by Bite’s blog bake sale. Erin from The Spiffy Cookie made them and as soon as I opened the box I could smell all that warm, cinnamon-y smell that you expect from an oatmeal raisin cookie. I had to dig in right away. I was not disappointed. These cookie was moist and chewy and completely delightful.

I went to pick up my son (he had half day) and took him to his dentist appointment. We picked up his sister and came home.

Snack time happened:

Carrots and hummus. Love.

We are going to dinner with some friends tonight. Tomorrow morning (bright and irritatingly early) I have a 9 mile run with my team. Then it’s off to downtown San Diego to hang with some college friends who will be in town. I’m excited!

My husband is taking the kids sailing with some friends tomorrow. Looks like everyone has a busy weekend! I have to get packing and finish up the laundry. I won’t be home until Sunday so I’ll see you then. Have a great weekend!

Weekend plans?

Have you ever been sailing?

  2. I'm spending the weekend in my kitchen covered in chocolate! I'm up to my eyeballs and am eating way too much of it. Never been sailing but I bet it's so fun! Have a good time!
