Ok guys....enough is enough. I need to stop indulging so much. The scale is moving in the WRONG direction. I need to stop boozing so much and clean it up! But before I can do that, I need to go back to Friday night. I had good intentions to cook a healthy dinner at home but everything changed when the hubby said to meet him with the kids at our club. Some of our friends and their kids were having dinner there too! So, I felt like having a glass of wine while I changed my clothes:

When we arrived at our club, they had a few appetizers out for everyone to enjoy. I had a couple of ravioli in a pink sauce and a couple of teriyaki steaks on a skewer. I had a glass of chardonnay with my dinner:

I started with a wedge salad with blue cheese, bacon and tomatoes:

I wasn't super hungry after the appetizers and the salad so I ordered the shrimp appetizer as my entree:

Everyone was ordering dessert, so we had to of course right? :) Messy sundae:

It was glorious. So much for healthy right?? I did have good intentions. :)

Saturday morning I had a waffle with almond butter and some strawberries for breakfast:

I packed everyone up and we hit the road for Los Angeles to attend my nephew's first birthday party. The food that was at the party was really good!! Not your standard pizza! I had a sandwich that had mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, basil and balsamic vinegar, grilled corn and a yummy salad with tons of veggies:

That sandwich was so good that I had another! After the party, we went to my parents house to visit for a bit. I had a glass of wine with my dad. :) Then it was off to Souplantation to meet my sister in law and her kids for dinner. Sorry for the blurry picture but the lighting there was really weird:

I had my standard salad, chili and some of the pizza bread. I also had some frozen yogurt afterwards. Then it was time to hit the road for the two hour drive back. We all were tired and went to sleep immediately when we got home.

After a great sleep, I woke up this morning ready to go. I made a quick breakfast: egg beater sandwich with low fat swiss cheese and spinach with some strawberries:

We were having people over for a bbq at lunch time so I needed to run to the grocery store.

Chicken kabobs, corn and asparagus (in the foil):

I made Orzo with Parmesan and Basil:

This recipe is awesome! I added garlic to it and some pesto butter that I had in the freezer from the last time I made this recipe. The pesto butter really makes this dish!

We had watermelon and this awesome Tomato Feta Salad:

I've made this recipe a couple of times and it's seriously fabulous. It tastes wonderful with the orzo!

I also made my guacamole. It's also a Barefoot Contessa recipe from one of her cookbooks. It's my favorite guacamole recipe. :)

The spread:

My plate:

I had wine with my lunch and I had an unpictured chocolate chip cookie bar that I had defrosted. I was short on time so fortunately I have already baked desserts in the freezer. :)

After everyone left, I cleaned up and threw on my workout clothes. I needed to exercise. Hubby went over to a friends house to watch the Laker game so I threw the kids in the jogging stroller and we went on an awesome walk. We ended up at a park and the kids ate their picnic dinner that I packed for them. They played for a bit and we walked home. I ended up burning almost 700 calories! Nice!

Now it's about bedtime and I'm excited about that! I'm pooped! This coming up week will be a busy one...it's the kid's last week at school and there are a lot of activities planned.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  1. Ugh I totally know what you mean "enough is enough" I came back from my vacation feeling SO bloated and gross. I've cleaned it up since then...not totally, but enough that I can tell a difference. Avoiding alcohol helps a lot (although, that's not hard for me, it's the sweets that get me EVERY time...everyone has a vice, right?)
