138.8....back from Palm Springs!

Wow! What a fun weekend! Before I tell you about my Palm Springs trip, let's rewind to dinner on Friday night. I went with hubby and a couple of his friends to Cafe Japengo for dinner. I had a glass of chardonnay:

For my appetizer, I ordered the ahi stack:

It was good! All we all shared a ton of sushi:

I don't remember the names of the rolls we ordered but everything was delicious! Hubby and I split a chocolate lava cake for dessert:

What's better than wine, sushi and chocolate?? It was such a great meal!

Saturday morning I left the house bright and early (6:45am) for my two hour drive to Palm Springs to meet my friends. I stopped at Starbucks on the way:

I packed a peanut butter sandwich and an apple to have for breakfast on my drive. I didn't eat the apple because it wasn't very crispy. :(

I arrived at the house we were staying and and then we all jumped in the car for coffee and breakfast (my second breakfast). I skipped the coffee but decided champagne would be better!

I was right! :) I can't remember the name of the restaurant we went to but it was in The River shopping center. I ordered an egg white omelet with shrimp, green chilies, pepper jack cheese and avocado. I had tomato slices and wheat toast with it:

After breakfast it was pool time! It was so nice to relax by the pool for a few hours. I did find another friend to hang out with:

My little friend Buddha and I:

Our pool.....

I had half of a tuna sandwich for lunch that we picked up at the grocery store after breakfast. I also had some Cool Ranch Doritos. Haven't had those in awhile!

Finally it was time to get dressed for dinner. Our birthday girl Dina suggested we go to Tommy Bahamas. She had enjoyed it the previous times she had gone. Well, I think we went on the wrong day. The service was terrible and the food was just average. :( They had a special three course menu for a decent price so I decided to roll with that. I choose the coconut shrimp for my appetizer:

The crust tasted stale and the sauce was way too sweet. :( For my entree I had the shrimp and scallops.

Boring and lacking of flavor. Dessert wasn't any better. Pina Colada cake:

Wasn't worth the calories so I only had one bite. Boo! Don't you hate it when that happens!?! After dinner we decided we wanted to go dancing so we drove all the way to Casino Morongo. Wow...there was a very diverse crowd there. We didn't stay long. We ended up bowling instead. Weird transition huh? It was a great night but too late for this grandma two nights in a row. :(
Sunday morning one of our friends cooked chocolate chip pancakes & turkey bacon for us. I can't remember the last time someone cooked me breakfast! It was so nice! Sorry...no pics. I was too lazy to get the camera out of my room. We laid by the pool for a bit more and then got dressed, packed up and headed to the Cabazon outlets for some serious shopping. We had such a great time and everyone found little treasures for themselves. A success! I did eat a tuna sandwich while I was there quickly. No time for pictures there either....shopping was our priority! :)
Then it was time to head home. I started feeling like I was getting sick AGAIN (!!) so by the time I got home I didn't have the energy to cook anything crazy. Pasta sounded good and fast:

This morning when I woke up, I realized that it's true....I'm sick again. Must call the doctor AGAIN. Ugh. Breakfast was plain non fat yogurt with Fiber One cereal and berries:

The kids are out of school for the summer so there was no running off to school. I went to my Cardio Muscle class and had a great workout! Even though I wasn't feeling so hot, it felt good to move my body after an indulgent weekend!
My mom came to visit for a little bit today. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. I had my favorite salad: Herb Crusted Salmon salad except that I had the salmon grilled this time instead of cold:

So good!! We shopped for a bit and called it a today. Now she's on her way home and I have a little time to chill before the kid's swimming lessons. :)
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
