137.0…The Fighter

That’s the best way to describe my dad. A Fighter. He continues to improve each day. It’s been two steps forward, one step back….even one step forward and two steps back but we are slowly making progress. Thank you again for your continued prayers and support.

Thursday night I went with my brother and sister in law to Zushi across the street from the hospital. We split a bunch of different sushi.

I ate breakfast with my mom on Friday morning. I had my standard veggie and cheese omelet.

Lunch was a BLT with avocado and a cup of vegetable barley soup.

My husband joined us for dinner that night at Luciano’s. We split the brushetta again.

As well as a pizza.

I stayed at the hotel with my husband and woke up late so I missed breakfast. I went to the hospital and waited to eat lunch with everyone. I had a turkey burger and a salad.

Dinner was at Gyu-Kaku. It’s a Korean BBQ style restaurant where you cook your own food at the table but it’s Japanese food.

We shared a Gyu-Kaku salad (lettuce, cabbage, daikon radish, eggs, cucumber, tomatoes with a Japanese mustard miso dressing):

We also had teriyaki chicken and miso butter fish (another favorite). Dessert wasn’t too shabby. S’Mores!

We visited a bit more with my dad and then went back to the hotel.

I went back to my parent’s house this morning to take care of the dog.  I ate a piece of toast with butter and headed to the hospital.

Tonight we have an event to attend in Los Angeles and then I plan on heading back to San Diego for a few days as long as my dad keeps improving.

Have you ever been to a restaurant where you cook your own food?

  4. So glad your Dad continues to get better! And yep, Tony and I have been to a Japanese restaurant where you cook your own food - not only was it fun but they brought about 20 side dishes to try - turns out I like kimchee!
