BlogHer 2011!

I’m back from BlogHer, my first blogger conference, and it was a whirlwind of a weekend!

Friday morning’s breakfast was a toasted English muffin with Barney Butter and a grapefruit.

I picked up Lisa and took her with me to take the kids to the bus for camp. We made a quick stop at Starbucks for some coffees.

BlogHer 2011 004

Yes, Barbie came along although that’s the only appearance she made. We were too busy all weekend for any Barbie photo shoots. :)

We got to the Marriott in downtown San Diego and checked into our room.

We had a nice view from our balcony!

Then it was off to BlogHer 2011!

BlogHer 2011 011

We went right to the Expo to check it out.

BlogHer 2011 012

It was crazy! Tons of booths and an immense amount of swag!

I got to try the new Bailey’s coffee creamers…they were delish!

Then it was seminar time!

BlogHer 2011 013

I went to one seminar and then it was time for lunch. We made our way to the Sails Pavilion and enjoyed the buffet.

BlogHer 2011 015

I loaded up on salad, chicken, wild rice and a roll. The brownies they had were so good!

All of a sudden, Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory” came out and a flash mob broke out!

BlogHer 2011 039

I’ve never seen a flash mob in person before. It was pretty amazing to watch!

Next up on my agenda was a cooking class at Knorr using their new  home-style concentrated stocks.

BlogHer 2011 042

I stood right on stage with a few others and we made asparagus risotto with Chef Marco Pierre!

BlogHer 2011 045

The risotto turned out great! I received a few samples of the stock and I can’t wait to try it at home.

Chef Marco gave me a signed copy of his cookbook. I also got to keep my hot bright yellow apron. :)

BlogHer 2011 046

Thanks Chef Marco and Knorr!

Skinny Cow had a booth and they had a couple of makeup artists applying false lashes. Of course I had to get them applied!

BlogHer 2011 050

Ooh la la!

I had a great time at the Expo collecting swag and taking pictures!

Eventually it was time to get ready for the parties! The first party was held outside on the Convention Center’s patio. I enjoyed some wine and a few appetizers before moving onto the main party of the night: the Sparklecorn party.

They had a ton of glow sticks on every table. I took full advantage.

Check out their amazing unicorn cake! I heard that Duff from Ace of Cakes made it!

BlogHer 2011 016

After a bit of dancing, we called it a night.

Saturday morning we got up, got dressed and headed over to the Convention Center for breakfast. On the way, look who was there!

BlogHer 2011 017

Bob Harper from The Biggest Loser!

There were slim pickings for breakfast. When we arrived the fruit was mostly gone, they had oatmeal (no likey) and bagels. So a bagel it was!

BlogHer 2011 019

I went to an informative seminar on blog design and another on professional blogging.

We broke for lunch and made our way to the pavilion.

BlogHer 2011 018

I had a sandwich and a couple of salads.

BlogHer 2011 020

And another fabulous brownie. :)

BlogHer 2011 021

We took our lunch to the Lunch Keynote with Indra Nooyi from Pepsico.

BlogHer 2011 022

She was amazing to listen to!

We went back to the Expo for some more swag…and some eye candy:

BlogHer 2011 062

Dang! Check out the Kudos guys!

We dragged all of our swag up to our room to get ready for the parties!

BlogHer 2011 068

Ready to party!

The first party was outside at the Marriott. They had a nacho bar (genius) which I did not photograph. Maybe it was because my hands were full. :)

BlogHer 2011 024

The next party was sponsored by McDonalds and I enjoyed a few burgers. :)

BlogHer 2011 025

Lisa and I had a great time dancing the night away!

BlogHer 2011 034

It was 2AM when we got back to our room. That is crazy late for me!!!

This morning getting up was rough but eventually we were dressed and had our swag all loaded up ready to go home.

BlogHer 2011 069

What I really wanted for breakfast was a greasy breakfast burrito. That was not happening so I had to improvise when I got home.

BlogHer 2011 071

Wheat tortilla, egg beaters, shredded Mexican cheese and Cholula. Not exactly the same but it did the trick.

I made some coffee and got to try out of the products I received at the Expo: Coffee Mate’s Natural Bliss creamer in Vanilla.

BlogHer 2011 070

Love it! These creamers are dangerous for me to keep around because I love them so!

I had a blast at BlogHer and cannot wait for next year! New York City BlogHer 2012 here I come!

Did you do anything fun this weekend?
