146.4…BlogHer Bound!

Last night my husband and I met some friends for dinner at Il Fornaio in Del Mar. It has been way to long since I went last…I forgot how much I love that place!

I enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine and the biggest, most delicious piece of bread ever.

I dipped each bite in a mix of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Their bread is so good…..heaven!

We all shared the Calamaretti Fritti:

It wasn’t that great. It was way over cooked and too chewy ick. The spicy marinara that it was served with was great though!

For my entree I ordered the Ravioli all Lucana: Organic spinach ravioli filled with Italian sausage, ricotta, parmesan and fennel; fresh tomatoes, spicy tomato sauce with imported peperoncino, pecorino pepato cheese and fresh basil:

I didn’t think the presentation was very nice but it tasted excellent!

My husband and I split the Bianco Mangiare ai Frutti di Bosco (Almond custard topped with caramel sauce, toasted almonds and fresh berries) for dessert:

It was also excellent! They did not have a single chocolate dessert on the menu (besides chocolate mousse-that doesn’t count). :) I usually pick a chocolate dessert so this made me go outside my box. :)

This morning I whipped up an egg burrito using a whole wheat tortilla, egg beaters and a bit of low fat cheddar cheese. I had an orange as well.

Every bite of my burrito got doused in my favorite hot sauce: Cholula.

I love you.

After I took the kids to the camp bus, I went to Zumba. Great workout! I love the Thursday instructor.

After changing, it was time for lunch.

Yep. Same as Tuesday. I just don’t feel like there’s a ton of healthy options when I’m out. Subway is always safe.

Then it was off to Costco. I didn’t get anything exciting….just the stuff that was on my list. You know…paper towels, spaghetti, cereal, etc.

I picked the kids up at the bus and came home for a snack.

Wheat Thins with a Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb cheese wedge and some grapes.

I’m actually cooking dinner tonight and I’m excited about it! It’s been awhile!

Tomorrow morning I’m off to BlogHer for the weekend and I couldn’t be more excited! I may or may not have time to blog while I’m there but you can always follow me on Twitter to see what I’m up to!

What is your favorite hot sauce?

What is your favorite dessert to order at a restaurant? Chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream for sure!

  3. Um, yep they do have to make a prettier presentation - glad your ravioli tasted good!

Cholula is quickly becoming my favorite hot sauce - the garlic one - never thought anything would kick my beloved Tabasco to the curb - well, until I find the buffalo flavored Tabasco!

  5. I'm not a huge hot sauce fan but I like the bottles of 99 cent mild taco sauce they sell at the store:) My favorite dessert at restaurant is mudpie, pizookies, and this amazing s'mores brownie I had! They all involve a warm base topped with ice cream, you can't beat it!
