147.4…Happy Blog Anniversary

With all the craziness of BlogHer this past weekend, I forgot that Saturday was my two year blog anniversary! Happy anniversary to me! How time flies!

I was so tired yesterday when lunch time rolled around. I was hungry but didn’t want to make anything. You know how that goes, right? I thought about having cereal but something with cheese sounded better (doesn’t it always?).

Enter: the quesadilla. Warm, cheesy, easy to make. Problem solved.

Speaking of cheese…do you know what’s fun to do when you’re exhausted? Go to Chuck E Cheese. Well, not really but that was what was on the agenda last night. I took my kids to a birthday party there. Fortunately it wasn’t overly crowded, my kids had fun and someone else made dinner. The parents of the birthday boy brought other adult food for us to eat while the kiddos ate pizza. The stand out for me: Costco sushi. I just planted myself down in front of it and went buck wild. Oh and the last few bites of my son’s piece of birthday cake was excellent.

Last night’s sleep was epic. 6AM came way too fast. Breakfast was egg whites and a slice of low fat Swiss cheese on a toasted bagel thin. I also had the last of my mother in law’s grapefruits (if you’re reading this, I would love some more!).

I took the kids to the bus for camp and went to my Cardio Muscle class. I needed a workout like nobody’s business.

Next stop was the grocery store. I need some healthy eats this week for sure! At the grocery store, I was suddenly inspired to make egg salad. So when I got home I hard boiled some eggs, mixed them with a bit of Fage yogurt, yellow mustard, dill, garlic salt and pepper and BOOM….fabulousness was made.

I’ve never made egg salad with yogurt before and it turned out great! I put my egg salad on a slice of toasted wheat bread and had a salad on the side. Great lunch!

Look what came in the mail:

Debbie Siebers’ Slim in 6 workout program.

Here’s the deal: I want to loose 10 pounds. Between the half marathon training and all the traveling I’ve been doing, my “happy weight” has escaped me. You know how it is…we’ve all been there (me…more so than others).  I convinced my friend Lisa to start the program with me once the kids go back to school….both of us have one more summer trip planned so we will start after that. Lisa and I completed P90X last year so I guess Slim in 6 will be this year’s fun. I’m ready!

On the way to pick up the kids at the bus, I snacked on a deliciously crisp apple.

Proud of my healthy eats today. Go me!

Have you done the Slim in 6 program before? Thoughts?

What are your tips when you need to loose those last 10 pounds?

  1. Happy Anniversary!!! 2 years is awesome. Quesadillas have been my go-to food all week. I should probably mix that up with some salads this coming week. Ha.

I'm closer to 15 pounds from my happy weight and I was thinking earlier today that I need to take my work outs up a notch. I'll look forward to hearing what you think of your new workout. Speaking of which, I should stop reading blogs and head for bed. Morning workouts come way to early in the morning!

  2. Let me know what you think about Slim in 6! I'm a BB coach and I got it in a big coach pack of programs and was going to try it. When I looked over the first workout, it looked too easy. I never ended up trying it, but I know that looks can be deceiving so I'd love to hear how it goes for you! And Happy Anniversary!

  3. Nicole...I'll let you know for sure! How awesome that you're a BB coach! I have really enjoyed their products so far!
I was thinking that the first video may be too easy too but I read somewhere that you can move ahead to the next video if that's the case.

  4. Congrats on your 2 year blogaversary - in a few weeks mine turns 3! :D

I never liked egg salad because of all the mayo - I'll have to give your yogurt version a try! :D

  5. Happy anniversary! Wow! 2 years, what a great milestone. So wish I could have gone to BlogHer, but there is always next time. Maybe I can talk my buddy with the barefeet to go with me...

I have been on a cheese kick myself. It does make such a difference.
