145.6…The Amazing Race Through Hong Kong
After almost 30 hours of travel from Phuket, Thailand, I'm finally home. How I'm still awake, I don't know.
Our flight from Phuket yesterday landed in Hong Kong with an almost 7 hour layover. What do you do with that much time? Race through Hong Kong as fast as you can!
We hopped on a couple of trains and a taxi and walked a ton….
….until we finally reached our destination: the top of Victoria Peak.
Talk about being on top of the world!
We enjoyed dinner at The Peak at Cafe Decco. My husband and I split a Greek salad.
It was incredible. I don't know if it was because I hadn't had salad in almost two weeks, or if it was because it wasn't Thai food or if the salad was really that good. Probably a combination of all three.
For my entree, I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese.
It wasn't as good as the salad but it did the trick.
We finished dinner and raced back to the airport in plenty of time to catch our 13 hour flight to Los Angeles. We finally arrived, got our car and drove the two hours home. We were pretty hungry so we stopped at Jack in the Box before getting home..at 1 AM. Nothing like a couple of monster tacos in the middle of the night!
We finally got to bed around 2:30AM but of course I couldn't sleep. I nodded off for a bit before finally getting up at 6AM to get ready for the day. I didn't have much of an appetite (I blame the monster tacos) so I had a small bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and almond milk.
I took my daughter to camp, then hit the gym for an hour. It definitely felt good to get a workout in!
I went the to grocery store to get much-needed food for the house along with a salad from the salad bar for lunch.
I ran to a PTO meeting, then to pick up my daughter from camp. I was hungry when I got back so I made a turkey sandwich.
I have to take my son to basketball practice, then make dinner. Bedtime cannot come quick enough...
How do you deal with jet lag?
