143.2…Running for my life!
Yesterday was my brother in law’s birthday and we went over to his house for a birthday dinner! I snacked on some pita and hummus and chips and guacamole. Along with some wine, I had tilapia, quinoa and stuffed bell peppers for dinner:
I also had a small birthday cupcake. Does the eating ever stop?
Breakfast was a burrito made with egg beaters, Poblano Rice and salsa. I had some strawberries on the side:
After taking the kids to school, I braved the elements (rain and wind) to do my half marathon training for the day: 4 miles. I’ll really didn’t want to do the run on the treadmill so I decided a little sprinkle wouldn’t kill me. I ran my usual path by my daughter’s school but I had to run further this time…into uncharted territory. The sidewalk ended and the bike lane got really small. It wasn’t so bad when I was running against traffic but when I turned around I was a little freaked out. I basically ran a whole heck of a lot faster to find my beloved sidewalk, thinking “please don’t hit me, please don’t hit me” the whole time. I’m cool huh?
Mile 1 – 11:12
Mile 2 – 11:14
Mile 3 – 10:24 (sidewalk disappearance)
Mile 4 – 10:39
After my run, I went straight to Trader Joe’s to grab a few things.
Oh yeah! I ate a few in the car.
I came home to change and get some work done. My son got out of school early today so I took him to Pei Wei for lunch and with me to run errands at Target.
Standard order: kid’s size honey seared shrimp with brown rice and veggies.
I’m making the Great News recipe of the week tonight…stay tuned for a great recipe tomorrow!
Do you run on the sidewalk or in the bike lanes? I don’t understand when I see runners running in the bike lane when there is a sidewalk available for use. I’m sure there’s a reason….anyone want to clue me in?
