145.2...Piccata Withdrawal

When we got back from the Super Bowl on Monday, there wasn’t a ton of food in our fridge so I made pasta with jarred sauce and a Caesar salad for dinner

I missed my favorite breakfast!

I went to Cardio Strength class at the gym after I dropped the kids off at school. I went to Fashion Valley mall to run some errands and stopped at Blue Smoke Sushi Lounge for lunch.

Miso soup:

The perfect lunch.

Last night a bunch of us went to Rosina’s to celebrate Cathi’s birthday.

I didn’t take a ton of photos (other did….don’t have them yet) but here’s a picture of Lisa and I. :)

My meal started with the Insalata della Casa (mixed green salad with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil):

I was tempted to go off the menu and order the chicken piccata but I opted for the Pollo con Carciofi (chicken breast sautéed with artichokes and capers with a white wine sauce) and a side of risotto:

I would have preferred the piccata. This dish was lacking a bit of flavor.  I did squeeze some lemon on it which really helped. I did try a couple bites of other people’s dishes and they were all very good!

Dessert for the table were cannolis!

Happy Birthday Cathi!!

Breakfast today:

After I took the kids to school I went to spin class. I ran some errands and came home. Lunch was a tuna sandwich and salad.

We are off to Park City tomorrow for a weekend of skiing! Well, I’m not going to be skiing but the rest of my family will be!

When a dish is bland, what are some things you use to perk it up?  Normally it’s salt, pepper and/or hot sauce but I really liked the lemon trick that Cathi taught me last night!
