147.0...Weekend Favorites
Ah Monday. You always seem to sneak up on me. I did have a great weekend filled with many of my favorite eats!
Thursday night’s dinner was fast to prepare. Roasted salmon and leftover stir-fry veggies.
Friday’s breakfast:
I took the kids to school then went to Orange Theory. I ran some errands and stopped at one of my favorite places, Urban Plates, for lunch. I had the Grilled Wild Caught Albacore Plate with Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Turkey Bacon and Broccolini. Yum!
I picked up the kids from school and our weekend began!
We decided to try the new Dolce at the Highlands for dinner. We sat outside and it was a beautiful evening for sure. My husband and I split the Heirloom Tomato (imported burrata, arugula, sherry citrus reduction, arbequina extra virgin olive oil, basil):
Really fresh and delicious!
I ordered the Sea Bass (scallion and cashew pesto, braised greens and veggies instead of fingerling potatoes):
Another winner! The service was a bit slow but the food was really good so I would definitely go back!
Saturday’s breakfast:
I did something on Saturday morning that I hadn’t done in a long time: workout on the weekend! I usually take Saturday and Sunday off but I’ve been trying to step up my game so I went to the gym and got it done! I was quite proud of myself.
For lunch I had an old favorite: skinny fish tacos from Wahoo’s.
It definitely looks like a mess on the plate but tasted great! It had been a long time since I had those!
Saturday night, my husband and I went to a charity event at the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art.
The theme was Monte Carlo Bollywood and everything was decorated so beautifully. There was amazing color everywhere.
We enjoyed cocktails and Indian street food before the dinner began.
Dungeness Crab Stack (spicy tomato-cucumber soup, scallion oil, tricolor melon brunoise):
Cast Iron Seared & Honey Glazed Paneer (roasted gold beets, summer chicory chiffonade, salt roasted almonds, red lentils, chickpeas, burned sprouts petals, coconut curry dressing):
The rest was served family style. Madras Chicken Curry (traditional spice blend, peppers, toasted garlic, onions):
Charred Broccolini (toasted garlic, almonds, lemon, fine herbs):
Tellicherry Pepper & Coriander Dusted Rack of Lamb (mint chutney, raita sauce):
Saffron Infused Fried Rice (lemongrass, peas, shallots, heriloom carrots, beech mushrooms, ginger soffritto):
Everything was fabulous. Usually I’m not a big fan of the food at these events but this was outstanding.
Dessert wasn’t half bad either. Indian-Inspired Petit Fours (green tea & mint macaroon, chocolate turmeric cake, passion fruit & saffron taste, Indian Gulab Jamun):
Sunday’s breakfast:
We watched the Chargers game (ouch!) before heading over to Alicia’s for the day. For lunch, it was hot wings and salad. Seriously, my favorite!
Dessert was cherry pie and vanilla ice cream.
We watched more football until it was time for dinner. We picked up Luna Grill. I decided to try something new:
Falafel Wrap! It was delicious! I wasn’t super hungry so I ended up just eating half of it.
Breakfast today:
I took the kids to school, then went to the gym for some treadmill time. I ran errands and came home to eat the rest of the wrap and salad for lunch.
Happy Monday!
Eat anything amazing this past weekend?

Have you tried Lemonade at UTC? I think I like it more than Urban Plates and Tender Greens but I also get there unhealthy stuff :/
