Happy almost Friday!! I'm blogging at my brother's place in Santa Monica right now, about to get ready for the festivities tonight!

Let's rewind to Ladies Night last night. We went to a restaurant nearby called Delicias. I had been there for lunch a couple of times but not for dinner. I enjoyed a glass of wine:

The table ordered a pizza with prosciutto and arugula for the table:

Such a great pizza!! There was a drizzle of balsamic vinegar on it and it really made the pizza!

I ordered a chopped vegetable salad to start:

It was a great salad with tons of veggies...that's purple cauliflower in there. :)

My friend and I decided that the pizza we had was so good that we'd order another one and share it:

That's my half. I'm so glad we got the pizza because it was outstanding! We had a great time laughing and catching up! I really enjoyed Delicias. We sat in their outdoor patio and it had plenty of heat lamps and a fabulous fireplace in which I sat in front of. Our waiter, Travis, was excellent!

Breakfast this morning was an egg beater sandwich on a light wheat English muffin with a slice of low fat swiss cheese and a side of cantaloupe:

My son had a field trip today and I was one of the drivers/chaperones. We went to the Carlsbad Flower Fields and had a great time! When it was lunch time for the kids, I was glad I brought a snack: Flat Out Wrap with Better N Peanut Butter and an apple:

We finished up the field trip and I came home and got packed up. Before my sister in law picked me up, I made a quick turkey and swiss sandwich on whole wheat with lettuce and mustard:

I hopped in the car and we hit the road for LA! I did eat a Kelloggs Fiber bar along the way. Now I need to get ready for my brother in law's law firm party. The husband is working today and will meet me there. After the party we are going to hit the road for Las Vegas!! We are going to the Mayweather/Mosley fight. I'm so excited!!!
Wine or Beer for the rest of your life.....which one would you choose? No question here for me....wine. :) I never drink beer. In fact, I always tell people that if you ever see me drinking beer, that means I've had to much to drink and need to be removed from the situation. Fortunately that hasn't happened in a LONG time!

Last night I took my sister in law to Roppongi Restaurant in La Jolla. I started with a glass of wine of course! :)

The chef sent out an heirloom tomato & mozzarella salad to sample:

Very tasty and earthy! We shared some edamame:

I went with the tuna sashimi for my appetizer:

It came with a soy wasabi vinaigrette and was delicious! For my entree, I ordered the small size of the Grilled Salmon, Miso Eggplant with a Spinach Thai-Basil Salad with a Citrus Soy Vinaigrette:

Fabulous! The eggplant was so good! My sister in law ordered extra eggplant so I had some more of those bad boys!

The chef sent out little tiramisus for dessert!

Cute and just the right amount for a little taste! I love Roppongi and would definitely recommend it if you are in town!

Breakfast was a light wheat English muffin with Barney Butter and a side of cantaloupe:

I took the kids to school, came home and waited for Lisa to pick me up. We were off to a luncheon for a charity group we belong to.

They had wine......

We shopped a little at the boutique tables that were there and then sat down for lunch. I immediately hit up the bread basket for some bread and butter:

Lunch started with a mixed green salad with a very tasty vinaigrette!

On our table were these little boxes of the most delicious toffee I've ever had!

The box was full.....I ate it all before my entree came. I got the woman's card who makes the toffee (she was selling it there as well) and her email address is: toffeedivine at gmail dot com if anyone is interested in awesome toffee!!!

Thank goodness the toffee was good because the lunch was not good at all.

The chicken was sooo dry. Ugh. I didn't eat all my food and that says something! :) I ended up eating two more little rolls.

Things were better after another glass of wine:

And dessert:

I went to a wax appointment after (fun....not) and now I need to get ready for my Ladies Night out. So much food lately! Ahhhh! No time to workout today or tomorrow....tomorrow will be a busy day! I have a field trip for my son's class and then I'm off to Los Angeles for an event and then hubby and I drive to Vegas! I'm tired just typing all that!! So if I don't post tomorrow, please forgive me!

135.8...and the giveaway winner is announced!!

After I blogged that my favorite restaurant is Firenze....my hubby came home and announced that's where he was taking us to dinner! Score!!! Mondays are half-priced bottles of wine day so we rolled with it:

Hubby and I shared our normal: Chopped Caesar Salad:

I ordered the Linguine with Clams for my entree:

I didn't like it. :)

I went to sleep a happy (and full!) girl! Guess I deserve the "weight gain." :)

Breakfast this morning was plain non fat yogurt with Fiber One cereal and strawberries, blackberries and raspberries:

I took the kids to school and it was off to cooking class at Great News! You know I'm a happy camper when I get to go to cooking class. Today's class was entitled: Springtime in Paris.

First recipe was Quiche Lorraine with Bacon and Swiss and a Buttery Crust:

Uh...bacon and cheese? What could be better!?! I loved it!

The second recipe was Chicken Veronique with Red Grapes and Fresh Tarragon:

Super excellent sauce!!! As you can imagine, I wasn't a fan of the grapes in it, but you could just leave those out.

Next up was Chicken Crepes with Asparagus, Ham and Mushrooms with Veloute Sauce:

This was so delicious!!! The sauce was like velvet and I loved the filling!!! I would definitely serve this for a brunch dish!

The next dish was French Onion and Gruyere Topped Rib Eye Steaks:

Holy decadence! That onion sauce was amazing!!!! I forgot to take a picture of the dessert!!! Anyway...it was Strawberry Bavarian Cream Mousse with Fresh Sugared Strawberries. Light and delicious!!

I'm going out to dinner with my sister in law tonight so I definitely need to get a work out in before.....this will be quite a food day! Actually the rest of my week is filled with food so get ready!!
And now the moment you've been waiting for....the winner of the Vegetable Spiral slicer is: Liz!!! Liz, I'm going to email you and get all your info! Congrats!!! And thank to everyone who entered!! Just in case you're curious I used the random integer generator at random.com.

133.8....last chance for Vegetable Spiral Slicer Giveaway!

Yesterday afternoon I went on a walk with Lisa. We went up the "fire road" twice. The second time I ran up that last half. My lungs were on fire!!! I love a good workout!!

I came home, changed and had a glass of wine before we went out to dinner:
We took the kids and met Lisa and her family at Leucadia pizza for dinner. I decided to keep the party going with another glass of wine:

I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Salad with balsamic on the side:
It was such a good salad!!!! Why haven't I tried this before? :) I did have a slice of kid's cheese pizza (without the cheese).
We went to Sweet Things (again!) for frozen yogurt afterwards:

This time I got Cookies N Cream, Fudgesicle and Funfetti. Nice way to end a Sunday night!!

Breakfast this morning was an egg beater sandwich on a light wheat English muffin and strawberries on the side:

I took the kids to school and went to Cardio Muscle class. After a great workout, I came home and changed. My mom was on her way to visit and go shopping. When she arrived, we left for the mall. We had lunch at Bloomingdales. I ordered the steak and spinach salad but got shrimp instead of steak with balsamic vinaigrette on the side:

Excellent! I may be on a shrimp salad kick!!! We did some shopping and I came back to Bloomingdales for some frozen yogurt:

So good!!!!!

Now we are home, trying to figure out what to do for dinner. I guess you'll find out tomorrow what the decision was huh?? :)
Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a Vegetable Spiral Slicer! I'm picking a winner tomorrow at 3PM PST!!
What is your favorite restaurant ever? I think mine is Firenze....an Italian restaurant nearby.

Do you want to win one of these? Don't forget to enter my giveaway for one here!

Now onto the eats!!!!

Last night I decided that a Saturday night calls for one of these:

Oh yeah. I brought out some leftover Fiesta Casserole from the freezer for dinner. I heated up some black beans and put some salsa on the side and BAM! Dinner.

My refrigerator is looking much more calm now....I've done a pretty good job of getting rid of leftovers!
We decided to take the kids to Sweet Things for frozen yogurt:

That's a mix of Funfetti (please don't ever get rid of this!), Cookies N Cream and Red Velvet Cake.

We got the kids to bed and the hubby and I did our hundredpushups.com program (Week 1, Day 3). I still can't believe that I'm supposed to be able to do 100 consecutive push ups when this is done!

This morning I was able to sleep in AGAIN (7:45!!) but that meant I was going to be a little behind with the stuff I had to get done. I took a shower, got ready and went to get my car washed. I cannot tell you the last time I had my car washed...it's disgusting. I'm a super clean freak in my home, but my car....well that's another story. Is anyone else like that? I think it's because I have kids....it's just too hard to keep clean. Anyway, I ran out the door without having breakfast so there was a Subway next to the car wash so I decided to try their new breakfast sandwich:

That's a Western Egg (egg whites) & Cheese with black forest ham with some veggies on a light wheat english muffin. It was pretty tasty actually! Not as filling as I'd like it to be but it did the job! I had a cup of coffee as well.

I came back home, put all the car seats (washed those too!) back in and got my daughter dressed and took her to a friend's birthday party. I tried a bite of the her pizza and a few bites of the birthday cake....can't say no to cake right!!!

When we came home, I made lunch. The last of the stuffed shells with a GIANT salad:

Wow...I ate the whole thing. I love me my veggies!!!!
I just finished writing all my son's birthday thank you notes and am waiting for my hubby to get back so I can go on a run.
If you could only eat vegetables OR fruit for the rest of your life...which one would you pick? I'd go with veggies for sure!!!!

And the leftover madness continues....I had some turkey meatballs left over from my swap party so I heated them up and served them over whole wheat spaghetti with extra veggies for dinner:

YUM!!! I love meatballs. :) I did hit up some Special K granola with almond milk for dessert:

I slept so well last night.....nobody woke me up until 7:30 this morning! Fabulous! That may sound early to some but 7:30 on the weekends is bliss. Breakfast was an egg beater omelet with a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese and veggies (spinach, zucchini, onions, tomatoes and broccoli) with a side of salsa:

I went to spin class afterwards....I hadn't been spinning in three months. Felt good to get back on the bike!!
I came home and showered and changed. We decided to take the kids to Chuck E Cheese for a little bit. Thank goodness for the salad bar.

I had this times two. And they had light ranch dressing so all was well in the world. After we came home, I finished up the laundry, did some random stuff around the house and made a snack:

Fage yogurt with some Trader Joe's Pumpkin Butter swirled in. I received the little packet of All-Bran Bran Buds to try so I decided to put it on my yogurt along with some strawberries:

I liked the bran buds! They were extra crunchy and reminded me of granola but without all the calories and fat. I might have to purchase this one!

Right now I'm enjoying a cup of coffee while I catch up on blogs. I think I may pour myself a glass of wine very soon. :)
Besides my blog :)...What is your favorite blog? Mine is probably CarrotsNCake. I love her eating style and how she balances healthy food with occasional splurges!

135.6

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is here!!!

Yesterday I had a snack before dinner: Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal, Fiber One cereal and blackberries, raspberries and strawberries:

Dinner was leftover penne with meat sauce that I turned into "lasagna". I piled it into a casserole dish and topped it with low fat shredded mozzarella cheese and baked it:

It tasted awesome! Too bad my dinner pic didn't turn out. (???)

It looked really nice next to the leftover mozzarella caprese salad from my party. Oh well.

After putting the kids to bed, hubby and I took a dip in the jacuzzi. That felt so good on my sore muscles!! I had some chocolate Cheerios with almond milk afterwards for dessert. My camera was upstairs and I was too lazy to get it, so no picture. I should have taken it upstairs to eat it though.....it would have helped me stay away from this:

That Chocolate Chip Paradise Cookie Pie is ridiculously delicious! Please someone take these away from me.....maybe I'll just do what I do with everything else: freeze them.

Maybe something is wrong with my camera because it ate my breakfast picture. I had an egg beater sammie with salsa and low fat swiss with a side of cantaloupe.

I took the kids to school and went to Cardio Muscle class. We had a sub today and I think she was trying to kill us at one point. Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I went to Zumba too....the instructor will be on vacation next week so I need to get all the Zumba I can now right? :)
I went to pick up my mail and what did I see???

Hello! That's ME on the cover of our local newspaper. And that is a BIG picture too. That was taken at the opening of the farmer's market I went to recently. Kinda crazy huh?? :)

Attention! Attention: Repeat meal offender!!

That's the exact same thing I had for lunch yesterday....it was so good, I couldn't help myself. :)

Then I was off to my nail appointment....yes....I go every two weeks. If my nails look nice, then I feel good. :) Before, I stopped to grab a few groceries and an iced coffee:

When I came home, it was time for a snack: berries with a drizzle of agave:

Would you like one of these:

Well, you better enter my giveaway for it then! All the rules are here. Good luck!!

What are your weekend plans? I don't have too many which is a nice change!!!
